TCP/IP connections to the Tufts Network
All devices on the Tufts data network must be registered with UIT to get an IP address. Tufts uses DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) for distribution of network information to both students in Medford campus housing (ResNet) and faculty/staff desktop computers. If you have not registered, you do not have an IP address. If you have special needs for a fixed IP address for a printer or server, please contact your FSP or the UIT HelpDesk. Fixed IP addresses cannot be provided to students on ResNet.
